| Union County is rich in Natural Resources, beautiful landscape, and rich cultural heritage. Norris Lake is a fundamental part of Union County. Norris Lake is the first TVA Lake, and is comprised of 34,ooo acres of water. Norris Lake is an emerald lake with wide open spaces and room to grow. With over 800 miles of shoreline, it has become a main tourist hot spot for North Eastern Tennessee. Union County also is habituated by a majority portion of the Chuck Swan WMA. Chuck Swan WMA is a 22,000 acre playground for the outdoorsmen. By providing many outdoor activities during all seasons and times of the year. Norris Lake and Chuck Swan WMA gives Union County a unique structure that allows citizens, tourists, and visitors a chance to relax and bask in the beautiful atmosphere, while also supplying Union County with abundant natural and manmade resources that cannot be found in other areas. Union County is home to many marinas and boat ramps for people to enjoy the lake. They are: Beach Island Resort and Marina Big Ridge State Park- hiking, swimming, camping avaliable Blue Springs Boat Dock Hickory Star Village and Marina Lakeview Marina Waterside Resort and Marina And over 50 public boat ramps and entrance spots into the water. |
